Introduction
Every
child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their
potential. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on
their future life chances. When, as parents, you choose to use our early
years services at Brayford Boomerangs Pre-School, we want you to know that
your child is safe and that we help them to learn and develop through
having fun, enjoying themselves and making friends. We ensure that
sessions are planned and tailored to meet the individual needs of every
child and that every child and their family are welcome. The Early Years
Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework that provides you with this
assurance and this is what we work to here at Brayford Boomerangs
Pre-School.

Our Aims
1. To meet the diverse needs of children
Our aim is to meet
the individual needs of all children who join Brayford Boomerangs;
delivering personalised learning, development and care. By helping
children to learn to value different aspects of their own and other
peoples lives. All children are listened to and respected and families are
welcomed, included, valued and encouraged to participate.
2. Partnership working
We aim to work with parents to support children by providing parents
with regular information about activities undertaken by their children and
by encouraging parents to participate in the supporting of the group and
their children. This is a two way process.
3. Flexible provision
We seek to take account of differing needs of individual children and
their families by allowing children to attend part session or just one
session a week.
4. Play
Children are given the opportunity to play indoors and outdoors on a
regular basis. Our outdoor play area is at Brayford Primary School which
is situated next door to us. Play underpins all development and learning
for young children. It is through play either spontaneously or with adult
support that they develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially
and emotionally. We provide well planned indoor and outdoor play and
observe children's play to best plan and resource an exciting environment
for them.
5. Quality Improvement
Time and resources are regularly allocated to consider how best to
create, maintain and improve our setting; so that we might meet the
highest standards and offer the best experiences for your children. We
carry out regular risk assessments. We employ well qualified and
experienced staff who are supported in undertaking CPD training wherever
possible. These staff are supported by parents on a rota basis to ensure
an excellent pupil to staff ratio. We keep accurate records and monitor
our information and data.
6. Transition
We work closely with the Reception Teacher and Head Teacher of
Brayford Primary School to ensure a seamless induction process into the
Reception Year. Transition to other settings/schools should be a process
not an event and should be planned for and discussed with children and
parents. We aim to work with parents and other settings which children may
transfer to. Due to the children being regular visitors to Brayford
Primary School for play and library use, they are very familiar with the
lay out, staff and children at the school. This aids a natural progression
to this school.
