We are inspected and monitored by Ofsted (who, at our last inspection in 2008,
graded us Outstanding/Good ), Devon County Council and Trio Childcare who work
for Devon Early Years and Childcare Service. They check the quality of 12
National Standards which we are required to meet and the quality of key
aspects of nursery education we provide.

Close Links with Brayford School
Boomerangs
is privileged to have close links with Brayford Primary School. Each session
(weather permitting) our pre-school takes the short walk next door to the
school to use the playground facilities at break-time. Boomerangs also enjoys
joint activities with the school, the annual Christmas play and sports day to
name two of them.
|
|
|
|
For the older children we are currently able to fund the Brayford Primary
Infant teacher to join Boomerangs for a session twice per term. This enables
us to familiarise the children with subjects they will encounter in their
first year at school (eg, letters and sounds). It also allows us to introduce
them gently to the more formal type "lesson" that they will
experience once they reach school. We are also afforded the use of the library
and have been able to take the children to experience "school
lunchtime" too. This is invaluable experience for all rising 5’s about
to start school to experience a school atmosphere and environment.
Outings
The
children enjoyed a visit to the Honey Farm at South Molton during the Spring
Term and a visit to a local farm at lambing time.

Village Community Harvest, Christmas Play and Carols at the Church, and
enjoyed the Village Christmas Fair.
